In the heart of the Chianti Classico hills between Florence and Siena, lie the prized vineyards of the Isole e Olena estate. The centuries old, southwest facing vineyards cover 290 hectares of land and are situated approximately 400 meters above sea level.
Paolo De Marchi took over the family-owned estate in the mid-1970s and managed to remain faithful to the traditional methods of winemaking passed down to him by previous generations, while simultaneously becoming known as a pioneer in using non-traditional varieties. The grapes used for the Chianti Classico are all estate-grown and hand-harvested.
