Maria Sole’s wine, 'Bulgarelli'—named after her grandfather’s prized stallion—is 100% Sangiovese from 20- to 30-year-old vines planted in the sandy clay soils of the farm’s main three parcels: Ficomontano, Melogranino, and Campo Cavalli. Fermented naturally, with a 15-day maceration, the 2019 spent the better part of a year in a combination of cement and steel vats, and was bottled without fining or filtration.
Intense ruby red color. Fruity and floral aromas, with light spicy and earthy notes. The wine is medium-bodied and fresh, balanced by good acidity, and a long and fruity finish.
