Luke Russ, who is the Commercial Director at O’Shaughnessy Estate Winery on Howell Mountain had a real challenge on his hands when it came to making a mixed white wine from the town of his youth. Yes, believe it or not there are still some white varietals grown in the Cabernet centric hamlet of Oakville. Let’s just say you really have to know who to call and how to ask.
Chardonnay was one of the key components of this wine and there are also four other floral varietals in the mix to add additional sapidity and aromatic complexity. The nose is delicately perfumed with subtle aromas of pear, peach, lemongrass and white flowers and a refined palate feel. This is a hard wine to get and an even harder wine to put down once in your glass.
