IBY Rose

This Rose of Blaufränksich really stands out. Blaufränksich has made its home in Burgenland and Styria (lower Austria and northeastern Slovenia) since the Middle Ages before it migrated to Germany and central Europe. These days, Blaufränksich is like the Pinot Noir of the East. With its multi-faceted flavor profiles, variations, and its ability to express terroir, this grape has been a perennial favorite of Austrian winemakers. This delicious rose is made by Anton and Johanna IBY on 81.5 acres in Mittelburgenland. 

Medium-bodied, very slightly off-dry. Ripe red berries, nectarine, and touch of red plum on the nose and palate. High acidity, pepper notes, red apple, and a slight prickle on the finish. Pair with lightly seasoned meats, grilled white-meat sausages, potato dishes, and spicy foods.
